Latin Verb Tenses
Latin has six core verb tenses that indicate both time and aspect:
- Present: Ongoing or habitual actions (e.g., “I run”).
- Imperfect: Past actions seen as ongoing, repeated, or incomplete (“I was running”).
- Future: Actions yet to happen (“I will run”).
- Perfect: Completed actions in the past (“I ran”).
- Pluperfect: Past actions completed before another past event (“I had run”).
- Future Perfect: Actions completed before another future event (“I will have run”).
